This is a one day hands on class. Skirting is defined as the process of removing unwanted fiber and debris from raw fleece, as well as preparing it for show, sale or processing. You learn to recognize and remove unwanted coarse and inconsistent fiber, shorts & 2nd cuts. You learn to package the fleece in a bag for show, as well as prepare a spin-off sample. Handouts from the AOA Show Division Handbook will be provided and we will review the AOA Fleece and Spin-Off score cards, as well as, Cottage Fleece show rules.
Please bring a fleece of your own for the group to evaluate after class.
The class is fun and interactive.
